Who we are

Nurse Excellence Academy ("Nurse Excellence Academy", "we", "us") provides educational courses, downloadable toolkits, pocket guides, and interactive clinical tools for long-term care nurses and facilities. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can reach us through our contact page.

Personal data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, login credentials, and account settings.
• Purchase and entitlement data: which courses, toolkits, or pocket guides you own, order references, and access status.
• Learning data: lesson progress, notes you save, knowledge-check answers, and course completion records.
• Support data: messages, inquiries, and attachments you send us.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser identifiers, and usage/telemetry from pages and tools you use.

Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment provider, not by us. Data you enter into our interactive clinical calculators is processed to produce your result and is not used to identify residents or patients.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• Providing the service — account creation, delivering purchased content, and tracking your learning progress. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
• Customer support — answering questions and resolving issues. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests.
• Security and fraud prevention — protecting accounts and content from misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Product improvement — understanding which resources are used and where learners get stuck. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Marketing emails — sending updates about new courses and resources. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Legal and tax obligations — record keeping we are required to maintain. Legal basis: legal obligation.

Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, email delivery, video hosting, and support tooling providers acting on our instructions.
• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which handles the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law or to protect legal rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep account, purchase, and course-completion records for as long as your account is active and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, and continuing-education record-keeping purposes. Support messages and technical logs are kept for a shorter period. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
